My name is Stephenie Bushra Khan, and I am an artist and writer. I grew up in Winchendon, Massachusetts and attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I am a graduate from the School of the Worcester Art Museum, Worcester, Massachusetts
I have published poetry and art for Azizah magazine, and am a regular contributor to the Independent a newspaper of Bangladesh. I have published poetry and articles for Islamic Horizon, Azizah magazine, Sisters Magazine,Muslim Women’s League Online,American Muslims, Skieswideopen.com, Concord Magazine, Worcester Review, Iqra Magazine, The Worcester Telegram and Gazette.
Some of my accolades are that I was the winner of the Worcester County Poetry Association contest in 1978. I exhibited in Visual Expressions, through the Art Council of Temecula, California for May 2004. I have done an illustration for Azizah magazine in 2014.
Some of my other exhibitions have been in the International Museum of Women-Muslima’s Art and Voices representing United States 2013 online, my solo exhibition show for Wine Country Art Gallery, Temecula, California. I have exhibited three timesfor Artscape for Spring exhibition 2015,2016, 2017 at the Riverside Administration Building, Riverside, California. I have exhibited for Temecula California, Temecula Has Heart, 2015, and First Friday, Temecula, California, several times at the Traux building Old Town Temecula, California I have joined Dorland Art Colony and the Temecula Artist League….here in Temecula California…I have exhibited at the Merc in Old Town Temecula Sept. 2016, 2017 and at Brandon Gallery in Fallbrook, California, June 2017. I was published on the cover of Tiferet magazine for spring issue….April 2017. I published poetry in Sisters magazine online in Dec. 2016. I belong to the Interfaith Council of Murrieta and Temecula Valley and during their programs of Night of Gratitude and Night of Music I have read my poetry in public..
I have volunteered as an art teacher for Temecula Elementary School in Temecula, California and The Boys and Girls Club. I last taught for the Monart School of the Arts in Temecula, California. I teach emotionally challenged children as a volunteer. I join many programs within the Murrieta and Temecula school district as an art instructor.
I currently continue to contribute to many outlets in both writing and painting, as well as commissioned work.
